To meet Michel Cormier is to understand what we mean by "a quiet strength." He is one of those people who sets a goal and does what it takes to get there, one step at a time. Michel was born in Sainte-Antoine and has been a resident of Dieppe since 2006. His passion for construction started at a young age, before he even reached high school. He learned his trade in the field; working first with insulation and putting up drywall, followed by 5 years as a supervisor in service and installation of doors and windows

His next 10 years were spent as a foreman with a large construction firm. Here, Michel learned the art of putting a roof over his clients' heads. During this period he also started to undertake projects on his own. "Every year, I did a project myself; houses, apartment blocks, duplexes," he explains. These projects confirmed for him that his dreams of youth could and should become reality. With more than 15 years of experience in construction, a spouse who supports and advises him, as well as two young children, it was in spring 2012 that Makor Construction took off.

Inspiration for projects comes from seeing what's being done elsewhere. Michel travels every year to gather images and returns with a camera full of photos and a mind filled with ideas. "I like contemporary and modern styles. Going out to see other markets where daring ideas are found allows me to create new trends to offer my clients, a personal touch which makes a house their very own home." Michel builds his business around the client experience. Indeed, the mark of this builder is his affinity for the human touch!
